Four-cornered Drive: Audi, BMW, Benz and Lexus

Auto comparison is a norm. Lengthy discussions can be found in magazines, web forums and used-car websites.

Rather than articulate criteria such as reliability, safety and quality as basis of comparison, let me share my best experience in each of these cars in the shortest way as possible.

Audi- sleek and smooth handling. Response time to curves and corners is commendable. Interior is like being inside a classy cocoon.

BMW – acceleration. The 0 to 100 kph is a breeze. The feeling that the car is magnetized on the road is real. When it’s above 100 kph, it seems that the ground clearance is lowered to lessen wind resistance.

Mercedes Benz – luxury and distinctive styling. The car received the most number of gaze, on looks, sighs and ‘wows’ within family, friends and even on the road. A ‘you-made-it’ car.

Lexus – refined and fuel efficient driving. The bumpy roads are not felt and, while I drive the extra luxury ES, it maneuvers like a small sedan. Luxuriously cost effective.

Driving, some says, is mere going from point A to point B. However, in traveling between these points, difference can be felt, in the same manner that refined ways of doing things can make a difference in one’s life.

Drive well. Live well.
